Water media collage is the infusion of collage elements [ordinarily slips of paper of varying  thickness and texture]  into a water media painting.. Therefore Acrylic collage would be the infusion of collage elements into an Acrylic. painting.  Depending on the theme one starts with and hopes to espouse, the development of the pieces become almost thematic in there nature. Of late I have moved to using disposable fast food rappers as my collage elements for a number of reasons.

 One) of course to show the transients of today’s throw away society. While the environment is always a concern, as it should be. These papers are abundantly used to wrap food and then discarded.

 Two ) They are multicolored and lend themselves to adding consistent color to the piece they are easy to use and a consistent source of color. of color,  that are built up by layering and the add texture as well as depth to the pieces I create

I was drawn to this type of painting after reading a Gerald

Brommer Workshop on the topic. I began to see that the possibilities Are almost endless. I also see that these are not limited to watercolor but can also be used with other various materials not to limit it, Acrylic and oil can easily be used to extend the range of possibilities.

I have use the wrapper from various products as the collage pieces
